66 1.6 Section 1. [626.5536] LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR​
77 1.7ETRACE SYSTEM AND TRACE AND REPORT ON RECOVERED OR​
88 1.8CONFISCATED FIREARMS.​
99 1.9 Subdivision 1.Definition.As used in this section, "recovered or confiscated" means​
1010 1.10any of the following:​
1111 1.11 (1) obtained from a crime scene or in connection with a criminal investigation;​
1212 1.12 (2) seized by a law enforcement agency;​
1313 1.13 (3) forfeited to a law enforcement agency;​
1414 1.14 (4) acquired by a law enforcement agency as an abandoned or discarded firearm;​
1515 1.15 (5) obtained following the unlawful discharge of a firearm; or​
1616 1.16 (6) otherwise obtained and reasonably believed to be connected to a crime.​
1717 1.17 Subd. 2.Reporting required.(a) Each law enforcement agency shall register for the​
1818 1.18United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Tracing​
1919 1.19Center's eTrace system, and opt-in to the system's collective data sharing feature.​
2020 1.20 (b) Whenever a firearm is recovered or confiscated by a law enforcement agency, the​
2121 1.21agency must, as soon as practicable:​
