1.2 relating to transportation; capital investment; appropriating money for intersection
1.3 improvements in Chisago County; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF SHAFER.
1.6 $3,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund
1.7to the commissioner of transportation for environmental analysis, predesign, design,
1.8engineering, and construction of a roundabout on marked U.S. Highway 8 at its intersection
1.9with Chisago County State-Aid Highway 21 in the city of Shafer. This appropriation is for
1.10the portion of the project that is eligible for use of proceeds of trunk highway bonds.
1.11 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF ALMELUND.
1.12 $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund
1.13to the commissioner of transportation for environmental analysis, predesign, design,
1.14engineering, and construction of a roundabout on marked U.S. Highway 95 at its intersection
1.15with Chisago County State-Aid Highway 12 in the city of Almelund. This appropriation is
1.16for the portion of the project that is eligible for use of proceeds of trunk highway bonds.
1.17 Sec. 3. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF SUNRISE.
1.18 $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund
1.19to the commissioner of transportation for environmental analysis, predesign, design,
1.20engineering, and construction of a roundabout on marked U.S. Highway 95 at its intersection

2.3 Sec. 4. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF NORTH BRANCH.
2.4 $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds account in the trunk highway fund
2.5to the commissioner of transportation for environmental analysis, predesign, design,
2.6engineering, and construction of a roundabout on marked U.S. Highway 95 at its intersection
2.7with Chisago County Road 67 in the city of North Branch. This appropriation is for the
2.8portion of the project that is eligible for use of proceeds of trunk highway bonds.
2.9 Sec. 5. BOND SALE.
2.10 To provide the money appropriated in sections 1 to 4 from the bond proceeds account
2.11in the trunk highway fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
2.12bonds of the state in an amount up to $18,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
2.13the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 167.50 to 167.52, and by the Minnesota
2.14Constitution, article XIV, section 11, at the times and in the amounts requested by the
2.15commissioner of transportation. The proceeds of the bonds, except accrued interest and any
2.16premium received from the sale of the bonds, must be deposited in the bond proceeds account
2.17in the trunk highway fund.
2.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
