1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money to Girls Rock for worker
1.3 training.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. GIRLS ROCK; APPROPRIATION.
1.6 $350,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $350,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.7workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development
1.8for a grant to Girls Rock, a nonprofit, to train local workers. Grant money may be used for
1.9training and support services, programming, administrative support, capacity building,
1.10technical assistance, job readiness, and placement. Of this amount, up to ten percent may
1.11be used by Girls Rock for administrative costs. This appropriation is onetime and available
1.12until June 30, 2027.
