1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money to expand the Indigenous Roots
1.3 Cultural Center in the city of St. Paul.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; INDIGENOUS ROOTS CULTURAL ARTS CENTER
1.6EXPANSION.
1.7 $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.8of employment and economic development for a grant to Indigenous Roots, a 501(c)(3)
1.9nonprofit organization, to acquire, design, renovate, furnish, and equip an adjacent property
1.10to the existing Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center in the city of St. Paul to increase
1.11programming capacity to incubate and support small businesses along the Intertribal Cultural
1.12Corridor in the city of St. Paul and in surrounding communities. This appropriation is
1.13onetime and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
1.14Statutes, section 16A.642.
1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
