44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.​
66 1.6 $450,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $450,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the​
77 1.7workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development​
88 1.8for grants to Ambassadors of Culture, Hooyo Hour, and United Way of Central Minnesota​
99 1.9to work collaboratively in providing workforce development services for diverse​
1010 1.10communities, particularly young adults, mothers from immigrant backgrounds, and youth​
1111 1.11from East African communities. The services must focus on enhancing skills, education,​
1212 1.12and employment opportunities through job training, job coaching, employer engagement,​
1313 1.13and career coaching. This is a onetime appropriation. Of this amount:​
1414 1.14 (1) $150,000 each year is for a grant to Ambassadors of Culture;​
1515 1.15 (2) $150,000 each year is for a grant to Hooyo Hour; and​
1616 1.16 (3) $150,000 each year is for a grant to United Way of Central Minnesota.​
