1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a survivor employment 1.3 readiness pilot project. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SURVIVOR EMPLOYMENT READINESS PILOT 1.6PROJECT. 1.7 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 1.8of employment and economic development for a grant to Avivo to provide resources and 1.9support services statewide to survivors of sex trafficking and domestic abuse, including 1.10continued work in the greater St. Cloud area, as they search for employment. Program 1.11resources include but are not limited to costs for day care, transportation, housing, legal 1.12advice, legal aid assistance, including assistance with legal documents, procuring documents 1.13required for employment, interview clothing, technology, and Internet access. The program 1.14shall also include public outreach and a corporate training component to communicate to 1.15the public and potential employers about the specific struggles faced by survivors as they 1.16reenter the workforce.
