                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a survivor employment​
1.3 readiness pilot project.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SURVIVOR EMPLOYMENT READINESS PILOT​
1.6PROJECT.​
1.7 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner​
1.8of employment and economic development for a grant to Avivo to provide resources and​
1.9support services statewide to survivors of sex trafficking and domestic abuse, including​
1.10continued work in the greater St. Cloud area, as they search for employment. Program​
1.11resources include but are not limited to costs for day care, transportation, housing, legal​
1.12advice, legal aid assistance, including assistance with legal documents, procuring documents​
1.13required for employment, interview clothing, technology, and Internet access. The program​
1.14shall also include public outreach and a corporate training component to communicate to​
1.15the public and potential employers about the specific struggles faced by survivors as they​
1.16reenter the workforce. This is a onetime appropriation.​
