55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.593, subdivision 1, is amended to read:​
77 1.7 Subdivision 1.Crime.Whoever intentionally and without consent from one authorized​
88 1.8to give consent causes any damage to or takes, removes, severs, or breaks:​
99 1.9 (1) any line erected or maintained for the purpose of transmitting electricity for light,​
1010 1.10heat, or power, or any insulator or cross-arm, appurtenance or apparatus connected to the​
1111 1.11line, or any wire, cable, or current of the line; or any component used in the generation,​
1212 1.12transmission, or distribution of electricity, including equipment used for grounding, system​
1313 1.13protection, or personnel protection;​
1414 1.14 (2) any pipe or main or hazardous liquid pipeline erected, operated, or maintained for​
1515 1.15the purpose of transporting, conveying, or distributing gas or other hazardous liquids for​
1616 1.16light, heat, power, or any other purpose, or any part of the pipe, main, or pipeline, or any​
1717 1.17valve, meter, holder, compressor, machinery, appurtenance, equipment, or apparatus​
1818 1.18connected with any main or pipeline; or​
1919 1.19 (3) any machinery, equipment, or fixtures used in receiving, initiating, amplifying,​
2020 1.20processing, transmitting, retransmitting, recording, switching, or monitoring​
2121 1.21telecommunications services, such as computers, transformers, amplifiers, routers, repeaters,​
2222 1.22multiplexers, and other items performing comparable functions; and machinery, equipment,​
2323 1.23and fixtures used in the transportation of telecommunications services, broadband services,​
