1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to agriculture; requiring the State Agricultural Society to reimburse the 1.3 cities of St. Paul and Falcon Heights for certain expenses; amending Minnesota 1.4 Statutes 2024, section 37.13, subdivision 1. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 37.13, subdivision 1, is amended to read: 1.7 Subdivision 1.Use of money.The state owns all money and other property of the society 1.8in the name of the society and there may be no division of its assets among society members. 1.9Money received by the society must be used for holding its annual fair and for other 1.10exhibitions or expositions the society holds, for the improvement of the fairgrounds, for the 1.11payment of expenses, premiums, and purses, for the acquisition of real and personal property, 1.12for the use and benefit of the society, and for furnishing attractions and amusements the 1.13board of managers considers necessary for the success of its fairs and other exhibitions and 1.14expositions. The society must reimburse the cities of St. Paul and Falcon Heights for expenses 1.15the cities incur as a result of events held on the fairgrounds, including costs for public safety, 1.16police, fire, and emergency medical services; traffic management; sanitation; and 1.17neighborhood clean up and restoration. 1Section 1.
