44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 121A.04, is amended by adding a subdivision​
66 1.6to read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 4a.Female sports teams.Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, only students​
88 1.8of the female sex may participate in an elementary or secondary school level athletic team​
99 1.9or sport that an educational institution has restricted on the basis of sex to women or girls.​
1010 1.10If there is a dispute as to whether a student is of the female sex, the student must present a​
1111 1.11signed physician's statement indicating the student's sex that is based solely on:​
1212 1.12 (1) the student's internal and external reproductive anatomy;​
1313 1.13 (2) the student's naturally occurring level of testosterone; and​
1414 1.14 (3) an analysis of the student's chromosomes.​
1515 1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
