1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to judiciary; appropriating money for forensic navigator services.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; FORENSIC NAVIGATOR SERVICES.
1.5 $....... in fiscal year 2026 and $....... in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the general
1.6fund to the supreme court for forensic navigator services in each of the ten judicial districts.
1.7The amount given to each district must be based on the population of the district according
1.8to the most recent United States census data. In distributing funds, the supreme court may
1.9also consider the specific needs of each district, including disparities in current available
1.10resources, travel time and costs for forensic navigators in rural areas, and video technology
1.11for remote hearings.
