66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 360.55, is amended by adding a subdivision​

88 1.8 Subd. 10.Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcasts.(a) For purposes of this​
99 1.9subdivision, "automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast" or "ADS-B" means aviation​
1010 1.10surveillance technology that uses a combination of an aircraft's positioning system, aircraft​
1111 1.11avionics, and ground infrastructure to create a surveillance interface between an aircraft​
1212 1.12and air traffic control or other aircraft, and includes ADS-B In and ADS-B Out.​
1313 1.13 (b) The state, a political subdivision, and a private entity must not use information​
1414 1.14broadcast or collected by an automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast system as a means​
1515 1.15to calculate, generate, or collect fees from an aircraft owner or the operator of an aircraft​
1616 1.16in the air space over this state.​
1717 1.17 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
