5 | 5 | | 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.761, subdivision 3, is amended to read: |

6 | 6 | | 1.6 Subd. 3.Social skill game.Sections 609.755 and 609.76 do not prohibit tournaments |

7 | 7 | | 1.7or contests that satisfy all of the following requirements: |

8 | 8 | | 1.8 (1) the tournament or contest consists of the card games of chance commonly known as |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1.9cribbage, skat, sheepshead, bridge, euchre, hasenpfeffer, pinochle, gin, 500, smear, Texas |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10hold'em, or whist; |
---|
11 | 11 | | 1.11 (2) the tournament or contest does not provide any direct financial benefit to the promoter |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12or organizer; |
---|
13 | 13 | | 1.13 (3) the value of all prizes awarded for each tournament or contest does not exceed $200; |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14and |
---|
15 | 15 | | 1.15 (4) for a tournament or contest involving Texas hold'em: |

16 | 16 | | 1.16 (i) no person under 18 years of age may participate; |

17 | 17 | | 1.17 (ii) the payment of an entry fee or other consideration for participating is prohibited; |

18 | 18 | | 1.18 (iii) the value of all prizes awarded to an individual winner of a tournament or contest |
