66 1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
77 1.7 Section 1. [3.058] EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEMBERS.​
88 1.8 (a) A member of the legislature serving on a legislative committee with jurisdiction over​
99 1.9kindergarten through grade 12 education policy or finance must spend at least 12 hours over​
1010 1.10the biennium observing a teacher or administrator in an elementary, middle, or secondary​
1111 1.11school.​
1212 1.12 (b) A member of the house of representatives must report to the speaker of the house,​
1313 1.13and a member of the senate must report to the senate majority leader, the following​
1414 1.14information for each observation: (1) date and hours of observation; (2) name of each teacher​
1515 1.15or administrator observed; (3) school site observed; and (4) grade levels observed.​
1616 1.16The member must make the report available electronically to the Legislative Reference​
1717 1.17Library. The Legislative Reference Library must publish each member report on its website.​
1818 1.18 (c) The house of representatives and the senate must adopt rules to implement this section.​
1919 1.19 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
