66 1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
77 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 103B.101, subdivision 19, is amended to read:​
88 1.8 Subd. 19.Pollinator account created.An account is created in the special revenue fund​
99 1.9to support pollinators. Money may be deposited in the account only as required by law.​
1010 1.10Money in the account is annually appropriated available for appropriation to the Board of​
1111 1.11Water and Soil Resources for activities that support pollinator habitat.​
1212 1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
1313 1.13 Sec. 2. REPEALER.​
1414 1.14 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 103B.104, is repealed.​

2525 The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy​ 103B.104 LAWNS TO LEGUMES PROGRAM.​
2626 (a) The Board of Water and Soil Resources may provide financial and technical assistance to​
2727 plant residential landscapes and community spaces with native vegetation and pollinator-friendly​
2828 forbs and legumes to:​
2929 (1) protect a diversity of pollinators with declining populations; and​
3030 (2) provide additional benefits for water management, carbon sequestration, and landscape and​
3131 climate resiliency.​
3232 (b) The board must establish criteria for grants or payments awarded under this section. Grants​
3333 or payments awarded under this section may give priority consideration for proposals in areas​
3434 identified by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as areas where there is a high potential​
3535 for rusty patched bumble bees and other priority species to be present.​
3636 (c) The board may collaborate with and enter into agreements with federal, state, and local​
3737 agencies; Tribal Nations; nonprofit organizations; and contractors to implement and promote the​
3838 program.​
3939 (d) Data on individuals who apply for or receive financial or technical assistance to plant​
4040 residential landscapes or community spaces under the program are classified as private data on​
4141 individuals, as defined by section 13.02, subdivision 12. Section 13.05, subdivision 11, applies to​
4242 an agreement between the board and a private person to implement the program.​
