1.2 relating to energy; prohibiting bans by political subdivisions on certain natural gas
1.3 or propane service to any building; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
1.4 Statutes, chapter 326.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [326.441] BAN ON NATURAL GAS AND PROPANE HOOKUPS;
1.7PROHIBITION.
1.8 A political subdivision is prohibited from adopting an ordinance, resolution, code, policy,
1.9or permit requirement that prohibits or has the effect of preventing a utility from (1)
1.10connecting or reconnecting natural gas or propane to any building, or (2) supplying natural
1.11gas or propane to any building or utility customer.
1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
