1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to veterans; appropriating money for mental health services and outdoor
1.3 activities for currently serving military personnel and veterans.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; HOMETOWN HERO OUTDOORS.
1.6 $250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.7general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs to provide a grant to Hometown Hero
1.8Outdoors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Stillwater, Minnesota, to fund outdoor
1.9recreational activities and mental health services for currently serving military personnel
1.10and veterans to promote positive mental health and interactions with mental health service
1.11professionals; to promote longevity and quality of life through outdoor activities and mental
1.12health services, including public education; and to ensure the organization is able to continue
1.13supporting persons who are currently serving or have served in the military.
