1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education finance; appropriating money for historic school building 1.3 preservation grants. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; HISTORIC SCHOOL BUILDING PRESERVATION 1.6GRANTS. 1.7 Subdivision 1.Department of Education.The sums indicated in this section are 1.8appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the fiscal years 1.9designated. 1.10 Subd. 2.Historic school building preservation grants.(a) For grants to school districts 1.11and the Minnesota State Academies for the Deaf and the Blind for historic school building 1.12preservation: 2026............1.13 $ 2027............1.14 $ 1.15 (b) To be eligible for a grant under this subdivision, a school district or the Minnesota 1.16State Academies for the Deaf and the Blind must apply for a historic school building 1.17preservation grant in the form and manner determined by the commissioner. A grant recipient 1.18is eligible for up to $300,000 per eligible building. For purposes of this subdivision, "eligible 1.19building" means a building that is: 1.20 (1) currently serving elementary or secondary students; and 1.21 (2) listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 1Section 1.
