6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 10A.273, subdivision 1, is amended to read: |

7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subdivision 1.Contributions during legislative session.(a) A candidate for the |

8 | 8 | | 1.8legislature or for constitutional office, the candidate's principal campaign committee, a |

9 | 9 | | 1.9political party, or a political committee or party unit established by all or a part of the party |

10 | 10 | | 1.10organization within a house of the legislature, must not solicit or accept a contribution from |

11 | 11 | | 1.11a registered lobbyist, political committee, political fund, or an association not registered |

12 | 12 | | 1.12with the board during a regular session of the legislature. |

13 | 13 | | 1.13 (b) A registered lobbyist, political committee, political fund, or an association not |

14 | 14 | | 1.14registered with the board must not make a contribution to a candidate for the legislature or |

15 | 15 | | 1.15for constitutional office, the candidate's principal campaign committee, a political party, or |

16 | 16 | | 1.16a political committee or party unit established by all or a part of the party organization |

17 | 17 | | 1.17within a house of the legislature during a regular session of the legislature. |

18 | 18 | | 1.18 (c) Regardless of when made, a contribution made by a lobbyist, political committee, |

19 | 19 | | 1.19or political fund in order to attend an event that occurs during a regular session of the |

20 | 20 | | 1.20legislature and that is held by the principal campaign committee of a candidate for the |
---|
21 | 21 | | 1.21legislature or constitutional office, or by a political party organization within a body of the |

22 | 22 | | 1.22legislature, is a violation of this section. |
