1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to contracts; updating terminology to gender-neutral terms; amending
1.3 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 513.075.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 513.075, is amended to read:
1.6 513.075 COHABITATION; PROPERTY AND FINANCIAL AGREEMENTS.
1.7 If sexual relations between the parties are contemplated, a contract between a man and
1.8a woman the parties who are living together in this state out of wedlock, or who are about
1.9to commence living together in this state out of wedlock, is enforceable as to terms
1.10concerning the property and financial relations of the parties only if:
1.11 (1) the contract is written and signed by the parties; and
1.12 (2) enforcement is sought after termination of the relationship.
