1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to natural resources; requiring a study and report of the impact of eagles
1.3 on loons.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. STUDY OF IMPACT OF EAGLES ON LOONS.
1.6 The commissioner of natural resources must conduct a study of the impact that eagles
1.7have on loons in this state. The study must include an assessment of the impact that the
1.8presence of bald eagles has on juvenile loons and on the loon population generally. By
1.9March 1, 2026, the commissioner must submit a report on the results of the study to the
1.10chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees and divisions with
1.11jurisdiction over the environment.
