55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. [136A.1468] EDUCATION BENEFIT FOR DEPENDENTS OF DISABLED​
77 1.7VETERANS.​
88 1.8 Subdivision 1.Eligibility.A person is eligible to receive educational benefits under this​
99 1.9section if the person:​
1010 1.10 (1) is enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program at an institution that is​
1111 1.11operated by this state or the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota; and​
1212 1.12 (2) is a dependent child of a veteran, as defined in section 197.447:​
1313 1.13 (i) with a total (100 percent) and permanent disability; or​
14-1.14 (ii) with a disability rating of 100 percent or more.​
14+1.14 (ii) with a disability rating of 70 percent or more.​
1515 1.15 Subd. 2.Educational benefit award amount.(a) The amount of the award is 100​
1616 1.16percent of the actual tuition, fees charged by the institution, and books after subtracting​
1717 1.17state and federal grants, scholarships, and financial aid for dependents under subdivision​
1818 1.181, clause (2), item (i). The award is 50 percent of the actual tuition, fees charged by the​
1919 1.19institution, and books after subtracting state and federal grants, scholarships, and financial​
2020 1.20aid for dependents under subdivision 1, clause (2), item (ii).​
2121 1.21 (b) An award under this subdivision must not affect a recipient's eligibility for a state​
2222 1.22grant under section 136A.121.​
