1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education; allowing a parent to opt their child out of a face covering 1.3 requirement; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 121A. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. [121A.321] FACE COVERING OPT OUT. 1.6 A school district or charter school that requires students to wear face coverings in school 1.7buildings or on school grounds must allow a parent to opt their child out of the face covering 1.8requirement. A parent may opt their child out of a face covering requirement by notifying 1.9the school board, principal, or a person having administrative control of a school site. A 1.10school district or charter school must not require a parent to provide a reason for the parent's 1.11election or to provide any evidence regarding any fact related to the child's health or education 1.12status.
