55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 243.90, is amended to read:​
77 1.7 243.90 MINNESOTA CORRECTIONAL FACILITY-SHAKOPEE.​
88 1.8 (a) There is established the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee at Shakopee,​
99 1.9Minnesota, in which may be placed persons only biological females committed to the​
1010 1.10commissioner of corrections by the courts of this state who, in the opinion of the​
1111 1.11commissioner, may benefit from the programs thereat. The general control and management​
1212 1.12of the facility shall be under the commissioner.​
1313 1.13 (b) If the commissioner is housing any inmates at the facility who are not biological​
1414 1.14females on the effective date of this section, those inmates must be transferred to another​
1515 1.15facility within seven days of enactment. This paragraph expires on January 1, 2026.​
1616 1.16 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
