1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to motor vehicles; modifying the definition of a motor vehicle dealer to 1.3 include dealers licensed under the laws of a contiguous state; amending Minnesota 1.4 Statutes 2024, section 168.002, subdivision 6. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 168.002, subdivision 6, is amended to read: 1.7 Subd. 6.Dealer."Dealer" means any person, firm, or corporation regularly engaged in 1.8the business of manufacturing, or selling, purchasing, and generally dealing in new and 1.9unused motor vehicles having an established place of business for the sale, trade, and display 1.10of new and unused motor vehicles and having in possession new and unused motor vehicles 1.11for the purposes of sale or trade. "Dealer" also includes any person, firm or corporation 1.12regularly engaged in the business of manufacturing or selling, purchasing, and generally 1.13dealing in new and unused motor vehicle bodies, chassis mounted or not, and having an 1.14established place of business for the sale, trade and display of such new and unused motor 1.15vehicle bodies, and having in possession new and unused motor vehicle bodies for the 1.16purposes of sale or trade.
