1.2 relating to legacy; appropriating money for river watch program; requiring a report.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; RIVER WATCH PROGRAM.
1.5 $170,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $170,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.6clean water fund to the commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency for grants to the Red
1.7River Watershed Management Board to enhance and expand the existing water quality and
1.8watershed monitoring river watch activities in schools in the Red River of the North
1.9watershed. By February 15, 2028, the Red River Watershed Management Board must
1.10provide a report to the commissioner and the legislative committees and divisions with
1.11jurisdiction over environment and natural resources finance and policy and the clean water
1.12fund on the expenditure of this appropriation.
