                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to state government; requiring the attorney general to reimburse legal costs​
1.3 of Mille Lacs County; appropriating money.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. COUNTY REIMBURSEMENT .​
1.6 The attorney general must reimburse Mille Lacs County $7,800,000 for litigation costs​
1.7incurred prior to 2024 to defend the lawsuit, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, et al. v. County​
1.8of Mille Lacs, Minnesota, et al., Case No. 17-CV-05155, and all appeals from that suit. The​
1.9payment must be made by June 30, 2026.​
1.10 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
1.11 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION.​
1.12 $....... in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the attorney general​
1.13to make the payment required in section 1.​
