55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 216B.1691, subdivision 2g, is amended to​

88 1.8 Subd. 2g.Carbon-free standard.(a) In addition to the requirements under subdivisions​
99 1.92a and 2f, each electric utility must generate or procure sufficient electricity generated from​
1010 1.10a carbon-free energy technology to provide the electric utility's retail customers in Minnesota,​
1111 1.11or the retail customers of a distribution utility to which the electric utility provides wholesale​
1212 1.12electric service, so that the electric utility generates or procures an amount of electricity​
1313 1.13from carbon-free energy technologies that is equivalent to at least the following standard​
1414 1.14percentages of the electric utility's total retail electric sales to retail customers in Minnesota​
1515 1.15by the end of the year indicated:​
1616 80 percent for public utilities; 60 percent for​
1717 1.17 other electric utilities​
1818 2030​1.16 (1)​
1919 90 percent for all electric utilities​2035​1.18 (2)​
