1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to human services; raising reimbursement rates for long-term ambulatory 1.3 electrocardiogram monitoring services provided by diagnostic testing facilities; 1.4 amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.76, by adding a subdivision. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.76, is amended by adding a subdivision 1.7to read: 1.8 Subd. 1a.Certain long-term ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring services.(a) 1.9For the purpose of this subdivision, "long-term ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring 1.10services" means the provision of external cardiac patch monitoring devices to patients to 1.11wear for 48 hours or greater and the interpretation of data gathered by such devices to detect 1.12heart arrhythmias that can lead to stroke, cardiac arrest, or other comorbidities or medical 1.13complications if not correctly diagnosed. 1.14 (b) Effective January 1, 2026, or upon federal approval, whichever is later, the 1.15commissioner must reimburse diagnostic testing facilities providing long-term ambulatory 1.16electrocardiogram monitoring services at 100 percent of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule 1.17rate for such services or higher. 1.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment. 1Section 1. 25-01523 as introduced01/03/25 REVISOR AGW/DG SENATE STATE OF MINNESOTA S.F.
