55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. STATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OLD WILLIAMS SCHOOL​
77 1.7PROPERTY.​
88 1.8 (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, or any other law to the contrary,​
99 1.9Lake of the Woods County is not responsible for managing the property known as the Old​
1010 1.10Williams School site. The commissioner of natural resources, in consultation with the​
1111 1.11commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, is responsible for maintaining​
1212 1.12and using the property.​
1313 1.13 (b) By February 1, 2026, the commissioner of natural resources, in consultation with​
1414 1.14the commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, must submit a report to the​
1515 1.15chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with primary jurisdiction​
1616 1.16over environment policy and finance on options for cleaning up, maintaining, and using the​
1717 1.17Old Williams School site.​
1818 1.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
