| 5 | 5 | | 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: |

| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 168.012, subdivision 13, is amended to read: |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subd. 13.Vehicles registered by certain veterans owners.(a) For purposes of this |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1.8subdivision, "eligible owner" means any of the following: |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9 (1) a veteran with a total service-connected disability, as defined in section 171.01, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10subdivision 51; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11 (2) an active member of a volunteer fire department who provides documentation from |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12the chief of the fire department. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13 (b) A passenger automobile, one-ton pickup truck, motorcycle, or recreational vehicle |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1.14registered by a veteran with a total service-connected disability, as defined in section 171.01, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1.15subdivision 51, an eligible owner is not subject to: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 1.16 (1) registration taxes under this chapter; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 1.17 (2) administrative fees imposed under subdivision 1c; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 1.18 (3) filing fees and surcharges imposed under section 168.33, subdivision 7; or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1.19 (4) plate and validation sticker fees imposed under this chapter, including but not limited |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 1.20to: |
