55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. [10A.035] LOBBYING RESTRICTION.​
77 1.7 A member of the legislature must not act as a lobbyist or register as a lobbyist for a​
88 1.8period of two years following the end of the member's legislative service. The board may​
99 1.9impose a civil penalty of the lesser of $25,000 or an amount equal to the amount the member​
1010 1.10earned as a lobbyist in violation of this section.​
1111 1.11 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment and​
1212 1.12applies to legislators who leave legislative service on or after that date.​
