1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for Phase 2 of a new highway
1.3 department maintenance facility in Murray County; authorizing the sale and
1.4 issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. MURRAY COUNTY; HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
1.7FACILITY.
1.8 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$4,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.9to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to Murray County to design, construct,
1.10furnish, and equip Phase 2 of a new highway department maintenance facility for Murray
1.11County in the city of Slayton. This appropriation includes money for the construction of
1.12facility space to store equipment, chemicals, and other materials related to highway
1.13maintenance; power and fuel supply systems; and associated improvements to the site to
1.14manage traffic safety and stormwater issues related to the facility.
1.15 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.16proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.17the state in an amount up to $4,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.18prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.19Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.20 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
