1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to veterans; appropriating money for a grant to Fishing with Vets; requiring
1.3 reports.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; FISHING WITH VETS.
1.6 $25,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $25,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.7general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs for a grant to Fishing with Vets, a
1.8501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to organize and conduct guided fishing trips for veterans
1.9across Minnesota. By January 15 each year, the commissioner of veterans affairs must report
1.10to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction
1.11over veterans regarding the uses of grant money, including any amount used for grant
1.12administration. The report must be filed with the Legislative Reference Library in compliance
1.13with Minnesota Statutes, section 3.195. As a condition of receiving the grant, Fishing with
1.14Vets must agree to provide the commissioner of veterans affairs any information needed to
1.15complete the report.
