                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to health insurance; prohibiting cost-sharing for certain office visits for​
1.3 infants, children, and adolescents; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section​
1.4 62Q.46, by adding a subdivision.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 62Q.46, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.7to read:​
1.8 Subd. 2a.Infants, children, and adolescents.(a) Notwithstanding subdivision 2, a​
1.9health plan company is prohibited from imposing cost-sharing requirements with respect​
1.10to an office visit if:​
1.11 (1) the primary purpose of the visit is to provide infants, children, and adolescents with​
1.12evidence-informed preventive care and screenings identified in comprehensive guidelines​
1.13supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration; and​
1.14 (2) the office visit is 15 minutes or less in duration.​
1.15 (b) If an office visit meets the requirements of paragraph (a), a health plan company​
1.16must not prohibit a health care provider from billing for preventive items or services that​
1.17are billed separately or tracked separately as individual encounter data.​
