| 19 | 19 | | 1.19subdivision 6. The curriculum may overlap, coincide with, or draw upon existing law |

| 40 | 40 | | 2.10designate private, nonprofit postsecondary institutions to provide the required intensive |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 2.11comprehensive law enforcement education and skills training to eligible peace officer |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 2.12candidates. |

| 43 | 43 | | 2.13 (c) Effective July 1, 2025, the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota may |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | 2.14request that the commissioner designate one or more campuses to provide intensive |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | 2.15comprehensive law enforcement education and skills training to eligible peace officer |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | 2.16candidates. Upon such a request, the commissioner may designate at least one of the requested |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | 2.17campuses. |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | 2.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective retroactively from July 1, 2023. |

| 50 | 50 | | 2.20 $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner |

| 51 | 51 | | 2.21of public safety for the Office of Justice Programs to continue the intensive comprehensive |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | 2.22peace officer education and training program under Minnesota Statutes, section 626.8516. |
