44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; COMMUNITY FESTIVAL GRANT PROGRAM.​
66 1.6 $1,250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $1,250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from​
77 1.7the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Humanities​
88 1.8Center for grants to community-based organizations, cities, and counties to support cultural​
99 1.9festivals and events throughout the state of Minnesota. The funding may support event​
1010 1.10programming, staffing, community outreach, transportation, facilities and equipment rentals,​
1111 1.11and signage. Up to $200,000 of this amount may be set aside for public safety expense​
1212 1.12reimbursement to county sheriff departments to support the festivals and events. The​
1313 1.13Minnesota Humanities Center must give priority funding to the Somali Museum Annual​
1414 1.14Celebration, Twin Cities Jazz Fest, Selby Avenue Jazz Fest, the Hmong Festival, Cinco de​
1515 1.15Mayo festival, and Rondo Days in St. Paul; the Hiddo Soor International Somali Cultural​
