44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 363A.09, is amended by adding a subdivision​
66 1.6to read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 7.Discrimination; housing assistance.A landlord shall not discriminate against​
88 1.8a tenant based on the tenant's use of federal, state, or local government rental assistance; a​
99 1.9housing choice voucher program; or another form of public assistance that helps a tenant​
1010 1.10pay rent. A landlord shall not deny a tenant or prospective tenant a viewing of a rental unit​
1111 1.11or application for a rental unit, deny them the opportunity to rent a unit, or discriminate​
1212 1.12against a tenant or prospective tenant who uses rental assistance or a housing choice voucher.​
1313 1.13A landlord shall not advertise that the landlord will not rent to a tenant who uses rental​
1414 1.14assistance or a housing choice voucher program.​
