6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 244.45, is amended to read: |

7 | 7 | | 1.7 244.45 INELIGIBILITY FOR EARNED INCENTIVE RELEASE CREDIT. |

8 | 8 | | 1.8 The following individuals are ineligible for earned incentive release credit: |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1.9 (1) those serving life sentences; |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10 (2) those given indeterminate sentences for crimes committed on or before April 30, |
---|
11 | 11 | | 1.111980; or |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12 (3) those subject to good time under section 244.04 or similar laws.; or |
---|
13 | 13 | | 1.13 (4) those serving sentences for: a crime that resulted in the death of a person; first or |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14second degree criminal sexual conduct; a criminal sexual conduct crime involving a victim |
---|
15 | 15 | | 1.15under 16 years of age; a crime involving child pornography or child exploitation; any crime |
---|
16 | 16 | | 1.16of violence, as defined in section 624.712, in which the individual used or possessed a |
---|
17 | 17 | | 1.17dangerous weapon; or any crime that carried a mandatory minimum sentence. |

18 | 18 | | 1.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment. |
