66 1.6 Section 1. [160.086] LOCAL APPROVAL REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN​
77 1.7EASEMENTS.​
88 1.8 Subdivision 1.Definitions.(a) For purposes of this section, the following terms have​
99 1.9the meanings given.​
1010 1.10 (b) "Easement" means the acquisition or designation of private or public land for the​
1111 1.11purpose of constructing, maintaining, or improving certain project elements related to a​
1212 1.12road construction project.​
1313 1.13 (c) "Local approval" means the approval by a statutory or home rule charter city, county,​
1414 1.14or town either by:​
1515 1.15 (1) a formal resolution adopted by the governing body of the local government unit; or​
1616 1.16 (2) a vote at the next general election and, if approved by a majority of those voting on​
1717 1.17the question, becoming effective following the final canvass of the election.​
1818 1.18 (d) "Roadway project elements" means the construction, maintenance, improvement,​
1919 1.19capacity expansion, reconstruction, resurfacing, or any other development of roadway​
2020 1.20infrastructure including shoulders, ditches, and culverts for the exclusive use of motor​
2121 1.21vehicle travel on the trunk highway system.​
