1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to higher education; appropriating money for a grant to College Possible 1.3 to support programs of college admission and graduation for low-income students; 1.4 requiring a report. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COLLEGE POSSIBLE. 1.7 (a) $600,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $600,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from 1.8the general fund to the commissioner of higher education for immediate transfer to College 1.9Possible to support programming focused on college admission and college graduation for 1.10low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support at both the 1.11high school and postsecondary levels. 1.12 (b) This appropriation must be used by College Possible only for programs supporting 1.13students who are residents of Minnesota and attending colleges or universities within 1.14Minnesota. 1.15 (c) By February 1 each fiscal year in which College Possible receives an appropriation, 1.16College Possible must report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative 1.17committees and divisions with jurisdiction over higher education and kindergarten through 1.18grade 12 education on activities funded by this appropriation.
