1.2 relating to transportation; capital investment; extending the availability of an
1.3 appropriation for the reconstruction of U.S. Highway 8 in Chisago County;
1.4 amending Laws 2023, chapter 68, article 2, section 2, subdivision 9, as amended.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Laws 2023, chapter 68, article 2, section 2, subdivision 9, as amended by Laws
1.72024, chapter 104, article 1, section 105, is amended to read:

1.9This appropriation is for predesign, design,
1.10engineering, and reconstruction of marked
1.11U.S. Highway 8 from Karmel Avenue in
1.12Chisago City to marked Interstate Highway
1.1335, including pedestrian and bike trails along
1.14and crossings of this segment of marked U.S.
1.15Highway 8. The reconstruction project may
1.16include expanding segments of marked U.S.
1.17Highway 8 to four lanes, constructing or
1.18reconstructing frontage roads and backage
1.19roads, and realigning local roads to
1.20consolidate, remove, and relocate access onto
1.21and off of U.S. Highway 8. This appropriation
1.22is for the portion of the project that is eligible
1.23for use of proceeds of trunk highway bonds.
