| 8 | 8 | | 1.8 Subd. 7.Legislative approval.(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the |

| 9 | 9 | | 1.9commissioner of natural resources may not sell, transfer, or otherwise convey any real |

| 10 | 10 | | 1.10property belonging to the state: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11 (1) in excess of 100 acres, unless the specific sale, transfer, or conveyance is authorized |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12by law; or |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13 (2) in excess of 1,000 acres, unless the specific sale, transfer, or conveyance is authorized |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1.14by a law that is adopted by a vote of at least three-fifths of the members of each house of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1.15the legislature. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 1.16 (b) A law that confers general authority on the commissioner to sell, transfer, or convey |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 1.17real property but that does not refer to the specific real property belonging to the state to be |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 1.18sold, transferred, or conveyed does not satisfy the requirements of paragraph (a). |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1.19 (c) This subdivision does not prohibit the lease of real property belonging to the state. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 1.20 (d) For purposes of this subdivision, the term "real property belonging to the state" means |

| 21 | 21 | | 1.21any tract, lot, or parcel, or any group of contiguous tracts, lots, or parcels of real property |
