1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to state lands; authorizing the sale of tax-forfeited lands in Itasca County. 1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.4 Section 1. PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING PUBLIC 1.5WATERS; ITASCA COUNTY. 1.6 Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45; 282.018, subdivision 1; or the 1.7public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, Itasca County may sell by private 1.8sale up to ten percent of the tax-forfeited land bordering public water that is located in the 1.9county as of the effective date of this section under the remaining provisions of Minnesota 1.10Statutes, chapter 282. The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general. 1.11This authority is in addition to any other authority conferred on the county to sell tax-forfeited 1.12lands. The county has determined that the county's land management interests would best 1.13be served if the land was returned to private ownership.
