44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 484.94, is amended to read:​
66 1.6 484.94 ATTORNEY ACCESS TO COURT RECORDS.​
77 1.7 (a) An attorney who is admitted and licensed to practice law in the state may apply for​
88 1.8a Minnesota Government Access account to access electronic court records and documents​
99 1.9stored in the Minnesota Court Information System for cases in state district courts. Minnesota​
1010 1.10Government Access must provide an account with access rights upon application by an​
1111 1.11attorney who meets the requirements under this section.​
1212 1.12 (b) An attorney employed by a government agency and civil legal services shall be able​
1313 1.13to view and print case documents and information without cost to the attorney. A private​
1414 1.14attorney shall pay a fee set by the judicial branch to view and print case documents and​
1515 1.15information.​
