| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 268B.01, subdivision 18, is amended to read: |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subd. 18.Employer.(a) "Employer" means: |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1.8 (1) any person, type of organization, or entity, including any partnership, association, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9trust, estate, joint stock company, insurance company, limited liability company, or |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10corporation, whether domestic or foreign, or the receiver, trustee in bankruptcy, trustee, or |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11the legal representative of a deceased person, having any individual in covered employment; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12 (2) the state, state agencies, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, University of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13Minnesota, and other statewide public systems; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1.14 (3) any municipality or local government entity, including but not limited to a county, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1.15city, town, excluding townships that meet the revenue threshold under section 367.36, |

| 16 | 16 | | 1.16subdivision 1, paragraph (c), school district, charter school, Metropolitan Council, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 1.17Metropolitan Airports Commission, housing and redevelopment authority, port authority, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 1.18economic development authority, sports facilities authority, board or commission, joint |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1.19powers board or organization created under section 471.59, destination medical center |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 1.20corporation, municipal corporation, quasimunicipal corporation, or other political subdivision. |

| 21 | 21 | | 1.21An employer also includes charter schools; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 1.22 (4) the taxpaying employer as described in section 268.046, subdivision 1. |
