1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a statewide education 1.3 campaign to inform employers about the benefits of second-chance hiring. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SECOND-CHANCE HIRING EDUCATION 1.6CAMPAIGN. 1.7 $200,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the 1.8workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development 1.9for a statewide education campaign to inform employers about the benefits of second-chance 1.10hiring, including incentives available under state and federal law for employing people with 1.11a conviction record. This campaign must include creating an informational website and 1.12staffing a hotline service.
