                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a statewide education​
1.3 campaign to inform employers about the benefits of second-chance hiring.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SECOND-CHANCE HIRING EDUCATION​
1.6CAMPAIGN.​
1.7 $200,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the​
1.8workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development​
1.9for a statewide education campaign to inform employers about the benefits of second-chance​
1.10hiring, including incentives available under state and federal law for employing people with​
1.11a conviction record. This campaign must include creating an informational website and​
1.12staffing a hotline service. This is a onetime appropriation.​
