1.2 relating to education; appropriating money for civic education grants.​
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; CIVIC EDUCATION GRANTS.​
1.5 Subdivision 1.Department of Education.The sums indicated in this section are​
1.6appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the fiscal years​
1.7designated.​
1.8 Subd. 2.Civic education grants.(a) For the YMCA Center for Youth Voice to support​
1.9civic education programs for youth 18 years of age and under and to provide teacher​
1.10professional development, educational resources, and program support:​

2027​.....​300,000​1.12 $​
1.13 (b) The civic education programs must instruct students in:​
1.14 (1) the constitutional principles and the democratic foundation of our national, state,​
1.15and local institutions; and​
1.16 (2) the political processes and structures of government, grounded in the understanding​
1.17of constitutional government and individual rights.​
1.18 (c) Any balance in fiscal year 2026 is available in fiscal year 2027.​
