1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements to
1.3 the Apple Valley Sports Arena; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPLE VALLEY SPORTS ARENA.
1.6 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$8,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.7to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Independent
1.8School District No. 196, Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan, to predesign, design, construct,
1.9renovate, furnish, and equip improvements and betterments of a capital nature at the Apple
1.10Valley Sports Arena located in the city of Apple Valley. This appropriation includes money
1.11for upgrades to administrative offices, public lobby areas, public restrooms, locker rooms
1.12designated for community and high school student use, improvements to address Americans
1.13with Disabilities Act compliance issues, energy efficiency upgrades, and safety and security
1.14systems.
1.15 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.16proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.17the state in an amount up to $8,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.18prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.19Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.20 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
