8 | 8 | 1.8 (a) All health plans, as defined in section 62Q.01, shall provide coverage for medically | |
9 | 9 | 1.9necessary dental procedures that are the direct result of cancer treatment, including | |
10 | 10 | 1.10chemotherapy, biotherapy, and radiation therapy. | |
11 | 11 | 1.11 (b) The coverage required under this section shall include coverage for evaluations and | |
12 | 12 | 1.12examinations, laboratory assessments, medications, and treatments associated with the | |
13 | 13 | 1.13medically necessary dental procedures resulting from cancer treatment. | |
14 | 14 | 1.14 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment and | |
15 | 15 | 1.15applies to insurance contracts issued, renewed, or amended on or after that date. | |
