1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money to OneCommunity
1.3 Alliance.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; ONECOMMUNITY ALLIANCE.
1.6 $600,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
1.7the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to OneCommunity
1.8Alliance to assist individuals seeking careers with local businesses in Central Minnesota
1.9within the manufacturing, food production, agriculture, and health care sectors.
1.10OneCommunity Alliance, through the nonprofit's employment and economy action
1.11committee, must launch a program in 2025 to equip job seekers in central Minnesota with
1.12the knowledge and skills they need to successfully secure employment. OneCommunity
1.13Alliance shall provide the following services with the money appropriated: workforce
1.14training, career readiness training, job placement assistance, and ongoing support.
1.15OneCommunity Alliance must focus program participation to primarily unemployed and
1.16underemployed people, recent graduates struggling to find work, and those looking to
1.17transition into new career fields. This is a onetime appropriation.
